Arrive in Auckland, New Zealand’s largest city, known as the “City of Sails”. You’ll be welcomed and transferred to the hotel. Later in the afternoon, enjoy a Welcome Drink and orientation with your Tour Manager, followed by a Welcome Dinner at the hotel.

Tour this multicultural city beginning at renowned Auckland Museum, housed in one of New Zealand’s outstanding historical buildings. See Maori objects along with an impressive collection depicting the growth of the country. Afterwards, enjoy the Maori Cultural performance. The afternoon is at leisure, or join the optional West Coast Wilderness Experience. Travel to Arataki Centre, perched high in the Waitakere Ranges for amazing views and magnificent traditional Maori carvings. Continue to the lush rainforest, walking the easy bush tracks among New Zealand’s famous kauri trees and giant tree ferns. This evening, ascend the iconic Sky Tower to 1,100 ft. for breathtaking views of the sparkling harbor, the city and beyond.

Fly to Queenstown, named for Queen Victoria. Nestled on the shores of crystal-clear Lake Wakatipu, it’s New Zealand’s adventure capital. Upon arrival, check into the hotel, then take a short walking tour of Queenstown, before having the rest of the day at leisure.

Enjoy a full day tour to Milford Sound! Travel to World Heritage Fiordland National Park, rich with dense rainforest, lakes, and waterfalls cascading from rugged mountain peaks. Stop at Te Anau and the glacier hewn Eglinton Valley before embarking on your cruise into the fjord with scenic views of temperate rainforest, stunning Mitre Peak and Bowen Falls. Possibly see seals, birds, and occasionally even dolphins or penguins. Enjoy a buffet lunch onboard. Return to Queenstown.

Spend time on your own discovering picturesque Queenstown. Walk the sophisticated downtown area or ascend the Skyline Gondola to Bob’s Peak, high above the city for magnificent views. Alternatively, participate in the optional Skippers Canyon adventure where you’ll follow the rugged road along sheer cliffs into the Shotover River Valley. Stop at Deep Creek to try gold panning at one of the richest gold bearing rivers in the world. Along your return, view some of the Lord of the Rings film locations. This evening, join the optional TSS Earnslaw Cruise & Walter Peak Station BBQ Dinner. Enjoy a cruise across Lake Wakatipu to Walter Peak High Country Farm on board a vintage steamship. Savor a delicious barbecue dinner at the Colonel’s Homestead Restaurant. Afterwards, tour the farm and watch a high country farm demonstration.

This morning, visit the charming gold rush village of Arrowtown, nestled in the peaks surrounding the sparkling Arrow River. Walk the tree-lined streets of this colorful town filled with 19th c. miner’s cottages, shops, art galleries, and lovely cafes before continuing to the ‘Valley of the Vines’. Visit a winery and enjoy a two-course lunch along with wine tasting. Continue past picturesque historic townships and the huge Clyde Dam. Pass orchards that define this area as New Zealand’s fruit bowl and arrive in Dunedin, New Zealand’s oldest city, known for its Victorian and Edwardian architecture and its close proximity to wildlife.

Discover the city on a morning tour highlighted by the Dunedin Railway Station, a jewel in the country’s architectural crown; Baldwin Street, the steepest residential street in the world; and prestigious Otago University. At Olveston historic homestead, see a superb turn of the century house with posh furnishings and a stunning art collection. The afternoon is at leisure or, join the optional Otago Peninsula Tour with Wellers Rock Cruise. Travel to New Zealand’s only castle, Larnach Castle, built in 1871, featuring magnificent architecture and superb craftsmanship. Then, embark on a wildlife cruise to view sealions and penguins on spectacular Taiaroa Head, the only mainland nesting place for Northern Royal Albatross in the world.

Depart Dunedin, following the east coast through Oamaru, renowned for its stunning limestone architecture. Travel through small rural communities before traversing the Canterbury Plains to Christchurch for a brief introductory tour. En route, enjoy lunch at a local pub style restaurant before bidding farewell to New Zealand and boarding a flight to Australia. You’re welcomed by your Australian Tour Manager in Sydney. Tonight, late arrival at the hotel.

Your tour of Sydney starts at world famous Bondi Beach and shows you the highlights. Then, shop for opals, the best in the world. Spend the rest of the day at leisure. An optional alternative is a lovely Lunch Cruise on Sydney Harbour. Feast on a seafood buffet while enjoying the sights. Feeling adventurous? Take the optional invigorating climb to the top of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. A professional team of experienced climbers takes you to the very top and provides you with a lasting memento.

A last day in Sydney is on your own, or participate in the optional full day excursion to Featherdale Wildlife Park and the Blue Mountains. You’ll cuddle a Koala (a must-do!), feed kangaroos, and view Fairy Penguins, colorful parrots, cockatoos, and lorikeets. Travel through quaint mountain villages, past spectacular lookouts, and through the rugged Australian Bush to Katoomba Scenic World. Return to Sydney.

Fly to tropical Cairns, gateway to the Great Barrier Reef, and join your Tour Manager for a walk on the waterfront boardwalk. Note the vast saltwater swimming lagoon with its whimsical steel sculptures and sandy beach. Wander along the Esplanade for restaurants and shopping.

Today, travel to the beautiful coral cay of Green Island by high speed catamaran, in the inner Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. This tropical island has a unique reef, rainforest, colorful birds, and magnificent coral gardens. Stroll, snorkel at the inner reef, or laze on the white coral sands. You may also choose the optional Outer Great Barrier Reef Extension that takes you out to a multi-level reef activity platform. You’ll snorkel amongst some of the most spectacular coral gardens and marine life on the larger outer reef, or stay dry and view the natural wonderland below via an underwater observatory and spacious, air-conditioned semi-submersible vessel. This is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Enjoy the delights of this resort city on your own or join the optional tour on the Kuranda Scenic Railway that takes you to the lush Kuranda Rainforest. Upon arrival, explore the quaint village before venturing into the rainforest aboard an amphibious Army Duck vehicle, followed by an enlightening Dreamtime Walk that will introduce you to the ancient Aboriginal and Islander history of this region. Afterward, enjoy a dance performance and delicious barbecue lunch. End with a visit to the Koala and Wildlife Park and a ride on the Kuranda Skyrail for views of the rainforest canopy. Return to Cairns to spend the rest of the day at leisure.

Your morning tour of Melbourne highlights the city’s cultures, monuments and scenic delights, from magnificent gardens to riverside complexes and bayside suburbs, with elegant 19th c. architecture. In the afternoon, time on your own, or join the not to be missed optional to Phillip Island Penguin Parade. Travel into the rural countryside to visit the home to the one of the largest Little Penguin colonies in the world. Afterwards, the rest of the day is free to enjoy the city on your own.
