Arrive in Phoenix/Tucson, and transfer to the beautiful Wyndham Grand Westward Look Resort, your home for the next four nights. After breakfast, visit Mission San Xavier del Bac, the oldest intact European structure in Arizona. The church’s interior is filled with marvelous original statuary and mural paintings. Enjoy a guided tour of the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum which will take your breath away! It’s a world-renowned zoo, natural history museum, and botanical garden, all in one place. Enjoy lunch on your own. Not to worry ~ you will be back in plenty of time to relax and dress up for your New Year’s Gala! A cocktail reception gets the evening rolling, then a scrumptious holiday dinner and an evening of music and dancing. You will be carried joyously into the New Year!
|Day 3||Tuesday, 1/1/2019 - Brunch / Sightseeing |
Greet the New Year this morning with a lavish brunch with all the fixin’s! Then you’ll depart for another wonderful day tour including a visit to the Pima Air & Space Museum, where history takes flight. This is one of the largest air and space museums in the world, and the largest non-government funded aviation museum. Free time for lunch on your own, shopping and other desert sights! The evening and dinner are on your own.
|Day 4||Wednesday, 1/2/2019 - Kartchner Caverns / Tombstone |
After breakfast this morning, you will visit Kartchner Caverns. The caverns are carved out of limestone and filled with spectacular speleothems which have been growing for over 50,000 years, and are still growing. Step back in time as you slap on your spurs for a fun-filled “Wild West Adventure” in Tombstone ~ “The Town too Tough to Die,” plus a visit to the Bird Cage and infamous Boot Hill! Time to have lunch and explore the town on your own. Tonight’s farewell dinner will be a special treat as you watch and take notes from the resort’s executive chef, as he shows you cooking techniques, cooking theology and more!
|Day 5||Thursday, 1/3/2019 - Sabino Canyon Tram Ride / Return Home |
Following breakfast, motorcoach to Sabino Canyon for a tram ride. Your guide will explain how Sabino Canyon was formed millions of years ago, the history of the Canyon, and about all the creatures that call Sabino Canyon home. After this last look at the beautiful Sonoran Desert continue to the airport for your flight home. (Note: Sabino Canyon is subject to return flight times, and could be scheduled on the arrival day.)
